In Key 3 three we continue the focus on key skills and independence. Pupils have daily Maths and English lessons and Science, PE, PSHE, RE and Computing are taught each week. We want our pupils to develop a love of learning so we choose themes (or topics) to engage and inspire them and teach them more about the world we live in. Foundation subjects are experienced through themed lessons. Trips and visitors linked to the theme provide a real life experience to apply their learning. We ensure we include opportunities for every child to learn more about the world of work and independent living too. As young people enter adolescence emotional understanding and managing relationships becomes more challenging so we ensure that themed lessons are structured to teach pupils more about themselves and their interactions with others.
