Nethergate uses positive behaviour support to enable pupils to succeed, and to inform our practice in supporting children who may exhibit difficulties with regulation.

Our school values and ethos underpin our attitudes, actions, and communication with pupils in our care. Just as we might support a pupil with the acquisition of academic skills, it is fundamental that we also develop behaviours which are safe, functional, dignified, effective and respectful of others.

The school’s key drivers of communication, safety, independence, and wellbeing ensure that these skills are not only expected, but supported and taught to children who may have difficulties in these areas of development.
