At Nethergate we regularly review our curriculum to ensure that it meets the needs of all pupils and facilitates active engagement with the learning process. The development of the key skills of communication, cognition, independence, physical development and self-care are placed at the heart of our curriculum to equip children and young people for life beyond school.
Our curriculum strives to be each learner, and builds on individual strengths and interests.
For primary and key stage 3 pupils a rolling plan is in place which supports a balance of stimulating contexts for learning through different learning experiences, themes and subjects.
At a key stage 4 and post 16, pupils follow a personal learning pathway to support and enable the individual to make a successful transition from adolescence to adulthood. Pupils are given opportunities to gain appropriate and relevant accreditations that recognise their skills and aspirations for the future.
