Nethergate Academy

Governance 

The Academy Advisory Council (AAC) is a small group of people comprised of staff, parents and community representatives. It is not, however, the same as a traditional governing body as it has no legal responsibilities. These responsibilities are held by the GAT Trust Board.

The AAC meets termly and provide a forum for consultation and engagement with the community.

The Role of the Academy Advisory Council

The Nethergate Academy Advisory Council has three key roles in terms of the development and success of the Academy:

  1. To advise and act as a critical friend to the Executive Principal of the Academy and to advise the Board of Trustees of the Greenwood Academies Trust about local issues they need to consider that affect the Academy.
  2. To promote the Trust's vision and values.
  3. To provide support to the Executive Principal from a parental and community perspective.

Membership of the Nethergate Academy Advisory Council

The Academy has an established Advisory Council which includes members from a range of backgrounds.
